Our Story

It All started after the founder of K's Canines rescued a specials needs Pitbull from a local shelter. At the time Kristina was working at the shelter, she worked closely with anxious and "aggressive" dogs. A dog came in with an extension cord around her neck and serious head injuries. After medical recover this dog has an even longer mental recovery....

After months in the shelter with no prospects of adoption Kristina decided to foster the dog and called her Sugar Plum (because she was so sweet). It only took about a week to realize Sugar had found her forever home.

However, this dog had sever anxiety and PTSD. She needed a special kind of training. Kristina was determined to improve her new dog's quality of life the best she could. She began to study under some of the most accomplish Canine Behaviorists that had received their PHD in Canine Behavior.

Kristina was able to apply her knowledge to her training journey with Sugar. When first bringing Sugar into the home she would become very anxious when guest would come over. Barking, growling, hiding and some times peeing her self. It would take her several interactions with a person before she would even walk near them. After years of TLC and Behavior Modification Sugar now greets all guest (two and four legged) with smiles and tail wags!!!

The founder was inspired to help other pet parents with similar challenges, so she enrolled to become a Certified Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA). Since receiving her certification several years ago Kristina continues to stay up to date on the latest scientific studies regarding canine behavior, allowing her to provide clients with the best service!
